Calgary Flames defenceman Chris Tanev has joined the CBC's Hockey Night in Canada team as an analyst for the 2023 NHL Playoffs. Tanev will provide insights and commentary alongside host Scott Oake and fellow analyst Eric.
Tanev, a veteran of over 600 NHL games, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the broadcast booth. The 33-year-old has played in the playoffs seven times, including a run to the Stanley Cup Final with the Vancouver Canucks in 2011.
Tanev's addition to the Hockey Night in Canada team comes at a time when the NHL Playoffs are heating up. The first round of the playoffs features several exciting matchups, including the Battle of Alberta between the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames.
Game 1 of the Oilers-Flames series will air on CBC Television on Wednesday, April 12. Tanev will be on hand to provide his expert analysis as the two provincial rivals clash for a spot in the second round.
