Bayern Munich moved to the top of the Bundesliga after beating Hoffenheim 3-0 on Saturday. Jamal Musiala's penalty, Thomas Muller's header and an own-goal from Benjamin Hubner secured the victory for Bayern Munich. The win moved Bayern Munich one point ahead of Union Berlin, who lost 2-1 to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. Hoffenheim remained in 10th place after the defeat.
Serge Gnabry and Alphonso Davies missed the game through injury, while Matthijs de Ligt and Dayot Upamecano were rested.
Speaking after the game, Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann said: "We played a very good game. We were very dominant and we created a lot of chances. We could have scored more goals, but we are happy with the three points." Hoffenheim coach Andre Breitenreiter said: "We played a good game, but we made too many mistakes. We gave away two penalties and we conceded an own-goal. We need to be more careful if we want to win games."
