Sam Rubin, a veteran journalist who anchored KTLA's entertainment coverage for more than 30 years, has died at the age of 64. No cause of death has been released.
Rubin's passing was announced by fellow KTLA anchor Frank Buckley on Friday night. "We are heartbroken over the sudden loss of our friend and colleague, Sam Rubin," Buckley said.
Rubin joined KTLA in 1991 and quickly became one of the most recognizable faces in Los Angeles entertainment news. He was known for his engaging interviews with Hollywood stars and his coverage of major red carpet events.

"Sam was a true gentleman and a consummate professional," said former KTLA anchor Mark Thompson. "He was always kind and supportive, and he will be deeply missed."
Rubin is survived by his wife, Lisa, and two children.
